Our #Day1 media fellowship on conflict-sensitive reporting, democratic participation, and civic engagement has officially commenced today in Juba. This fellowship has brought together at least 20 journalists, with 10 participants coming from various states.

The fellowship is held under the theme “Increasing the Skills and Knowledge of Journalists to Facilitate Public Discourse about Key Democratic Processes in Nation-Building.”

The training, which runs from Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 12th, 2024, aims to equip journalists with the essential skills and knowledge needed to report responsibly and effectively on conflict sensitive topics.

Participants will engage in workshops and interactive sessions designed to enhance their understanding of conflict-sensitive reporting. They will also explore the roles of democratic participation and civic engagement in fostering a well-informed public and a robust democratic process.

The event is organized by AMDISS with the support of USAID South Sudan through #IREX.
