After last week technical training on radio installation, studio management, and equipment maintenance at Akol Yam 91.0 FM in Aweil, we extended the same training to Mayardit FM 90.7 in Turalei.

With support from UNESCO, the Association for Media Development (AMDISS) in South Sudan conducted a one-day Validation Workshop dedicated to refining the Mass Media Election Coverage Guide.

This event brought together media managers, professionals and experts to discuss the standards and practices of journalists and media houses when covering any electoral process. This is to ensure the process is fair, balanced, and adheres to the highest ethical standards.

The Mass Media Election Coverage Guide is an essential document designed to help journalists navigate the complexities of reporting during election periods.

It provides clear guidelines on maintaining impartiality, verifying information, and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

I was running a kiosk for charging cell phones to support my studies at MDI,” Peter Gatkuoth. “I also performed very well during my internship. I am so proud and happy about this hard-won award. It encourages me to do more in the field to win more awards and make difference in society.”
Peter Gatkuoth is one of the six MDI Alumni who won the award for exceptional writing on the humanitarian situation in South Sudan.
He encouraged his colleagues to devote themselves to educating, informing, and entertaining their audience regardless of the challenges facing the media space in the country.
