AMDISS is thrilled to announce the progress of a series of training workshops in Wau, Western Bahr El-Ghazal State. The first workshop is for information officers, security agencies, and government institutions on the rights of access to information, supported by UNESCO South Sudan.
The second workshop will begin on Thursday for station managers and editors of radio stations in the Greater Bahr El-Ghazal Region. We expect participants from Door FM Radio, Don Bosco, Kong Koch, Good News, Akol Yam, Kuajok, Voice of Hope, and Radio Wau, among others.
It will offer an opportunity for station managers and editors to interact on possible ways to increase their skills in media sustainability, editorial and independence protection, gender-responsive reporting,
The induction workshop will also give a glimpse into the understanding of electoral reporting, the role of media during elections, conflict-sensitive reporting, fact-checking, MIL, countering hate speech, and ethical and accurate reporting.
Though the elections have been pushed to December 2026, it is crucial to prepare journalists and media managers for future benefits.
