Juba, Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 – This morning, the Association for Media Development In South Sudan (AMDISS) participated in #Day1 of a high-level Stakeholders Consultation and Capacity Building Workshop at Crown Hotel.
The workshop was held under the theme “Enhancing Legal and Non-Legal Measures Against Hate Speech Through a Multi-Stakeholder Approach,” aimed to empower young people, content creators, media professionals, ICT experts, and civil society actors with the skills to promote inclusion, counter hate speech, and foster digital peace across media and online platforms.
The event brought together nearly 100 participants, including journalists, government officials, digital content creators, artists, ICT specialists, and civil society activists.
Through collaborative discussions and strategy-building sessions, the participants explored effective ways to tackle hate speech, promote responsible digital engagement, and create a safer, more inclusive online environment in South Sudan.
This high-level Stakeholders Consultation and Capacity Building Workshop was organized jointly by UNESCO, AMDISS, UJOSS and other stakeholders.
