The Director of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS, Ayaa Irene Lokang, has been selected as one of Africa’s 100 Most Influential Women for the 4th African Women Awards, which will be held in the Rwandan Capital, Kigali, in November 2025.
The African Women Awards aim to identify and recognize outstanding women from across Africa for their professional achievements and personal conduct. These awards celebrate extraordinary accomplishments and the positive impact these women have made in their communities, societies, and regions across the continent.
This prestigious international honor confirms Ayaa Irene’s status as a member of an elite group of African female icons, known as the “SHE ACHIEVERS NETWORK.” The award will be presented in the form of a plaque and a certificate during a glamorous Red Carpet Gala awards night.

In November 2024, Veronica Lucy Gordon, one of the pioneers in the Executive Board of AMDISS equally received the same award as one of Africa’s 100 Most Influential Women by the African Women Awards that was held in Ethiopia.
