This morning, Ms. Ayaa Irene, Director of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS), joined the National Editors’ Forum (NEF) Breakfast Meeting, a vibrant and strategic gathering aimed at enhancing content management and editorial standards across the country.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the media sector, including distinguished delegates from the Chinese Embassy, to engage in meaningful dialogue on improving media practices, fostering cross-border collaboration, and shaping the future of responsible journalism in South Sudan.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, NEF Chairperson Chuol Jany Bol reaffirmed his leadership’s commitment to promoting gender equality in newsrooms.
“We look for equality, and it’s our mandate as National Editors’ Forum to make sure that media management in South Sudan should not be dominated by men,” Jany stated.
Chuol added that, “NEF should be having equal opportunity where men and women have equal opportunity to make decision in the newsroom,”
In her remarks, Ms. Ayaa Irene welcomed NEF members and commended them for their proactive role in driving content improvement and editorial integrity.
She pledged AMDISS’s continued support to NEF in its mission to elevate content quality, promote gender equity, and strengthen regional and international media partnerships.
