National Media Stakeholders commemorate the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists (IDEI) at Gelila Hotel, in Juba, on 18 November 2025.
Addressing the event, the Commissioner of the Access to Information Commission, Hon. Moyiga Nduru, calls on the journalists to practice ethically and avoid spreading unverified information.
NPA representative, Jacob Atem, reaffirms the strong commitment of his organisation to continue supporting the journalists to keep educating and informing the public on current affairs.
UNESCO representative, Jasper Okodi, encourages journalists to use their platforms carefully, emphasising that the freedom of expression is not absolute.
He says UNESCO remains committed to supporting media projects in South Sudan and across the world.
UJOSS President, Oyet Patrick, acknowledges the critical role journalists play in keeping society informed, but he stressed the need to protect journalists to encourage them to do their work more effectively.
