Juba, South Sudan – AMDISS is proudly participating in the 3-day JICA–UNESCO Project Partners Coordination Meeting in Juba.

The partners’ meeting serves as a project framework to review progress, map out implementation strategies, and set priorities.

During the meeting, our Director, Ayaa Irene, made a presentation on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and the challenges female journalists experience in their workplaces.

Ayaa stressed that GESI and media play a critical role in changing societal narratives and perceptions of women and marginalized groups.

She called on institutions and their leadership to establish a dedicated GESI unit to oversee, monitor, and evaluate progress on inclusive representation.

The project was launched in September 2025 to drive sustainable media growth and freedom of expression in South Sudan.
