We gathered to reflect, celebrate, and plan ways to advance media and shape the future of free and vibrant media.

Discussions centered on pressing issues shaping the media sector in South Sudan, including: Challenges confronting media institutions, High registration and license renewal fees for media houses, and Consideration of new membership applications.

These conversations reflect our collective commitment to strengthening media development and safeguarding press freedom in South Sudan.

“Our strength comes from our unity and our continued commitment to advancing media freedoms and our vision.

We respect our organization’s Constitution, and that’s why we always organize AGMs to brief our Board on what we do and also get their views.”

Remarks from our Director, Ayaa Irene, at the 23rd Annual General Meeting 2026.

“My heartfelt thanks go to the entire AMDISS team for their dedication, passion, and professionalism. I see the extra hours, the creative problem-solving, and the way you support each other to overcome obstacles.

It is your hard work that drives our success and allows us to meet our goals. I am honored to lead such a fantastic team, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence.”

Remarks from the Chairperson of our Board, Josephine Achiro Fortelo, during the 23rd Annual General Meeting.

“We want to thank AMDISS for the work they are doing in South Sudan.

As NCA, we have benefited in many ways. Some of our Staff who are currently working with us have been trained (MDI). I think we’re the first frontline beneficiaries of the work that AMDISS is doing in South Sudan.

The second thing I would like to say is that very few organizations have AGMs, and I think that is a measure of Accountability.

Having AGM really demonstrates that you are committed to ensuring that you are accountable to your stakeholders.”

Remarks from Michael Ouko, Deputy Country Director of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), during the 23rd Annual General Meeting.

“The Media generally in South Sudan is in a critical juncture. We have situations, and as the Board of Directors, we have a responsibility to shape the policy on how we can be able to take AMDISS forward and also how we can be able to take the media forward in South Sudan.

I hope when we present the Report, we can be able to dive in and be able to provide inputs and suggestions on how we want to see the media going forward in the years to come.”

Remarks from Chris Marol, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of AMDISS, during the 23rd Annual General Meeting.

“You are here today to share your experiences among yourselves, strengthen cooperation, and look for solutions facing the media industry in South Sudan.

As media Houses, at the moment, you are at the frontline of serving society. Your role is to educate, entertain, and guide society.”
